As a System Engineer, you will monitor and maintain converting lines to ensure optimal efficiencies are achieved. You will troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure seamless production operations, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for providing electrical fault diagnosis, mentoring team members, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Overview
- Performing and supervising routine maintenance and the repair of electrical systems, including PLC systems.
- Providing electrical fault diagnosis and implementing actions for improvement.
- Liaising with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) when necessary to fault-find and optimise output.
- Assisting, mentoring, and training electrical team members.
- Assisting with the setup of electrical safety systems and procedures, including RA (Risk Assessments), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and planned maintenance programs.
- Ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely, including compliance with LOTO-PTW (Lockout/Tagout - Permit to Work).
- Collaborating with production teams to minimise downtime and address operational issues while documenting all maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Assisting with new equipment installations and overseeing contractor relationships.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and developing maintenance procedures to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
- Performing basic Production Operator tasks as and when required.
- Being flexible to work shifts and variable hours as required by the business.
Minimum Criteria To Apply
- Highly skilled/qualified in an appropriate discipline.
- Previous experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment, preferably in tissue paper converting.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
