As an IT Infrastructure Technician, you will support the IT Network and Infrastructure Manager in maintaining and enhancing the company’s IT systems and services. Acting as an escalation point for infrastructure-related issues, you’ll take responsibility for the resolution of complex technical problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Your role will include hardware installation, server administration, monitoring systems, and contributing to infrastructure projects. A key focus will be on system security, data protection, and continual service improvement.
Job Overview
- Support the IT Network and Infrastructure Manager with day-to-day tasks and infrastructure projects.
- Act as an escalation point within the IT department for infrastructure-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and server infrastructure.
- Administer and monitor server systems, ensuring regular backups and operational continuity.
- Maintain a strong focus on IT security across systems and networks.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
- Resolve IT issues efficiently, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal IT systems, tools, and practices.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and maintain confidentiality in all data handling.
- Perform additional duties relevant to the role and within the scope of your skills.
Minimum Criteria To Apply
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of virtualisation and storage technologies.
- Working experience with enterprise management systems.
- A methodical, logical approach to problem-solving and project work.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and see them through to resolution.
- A proactive, professional attitude with a strong focus on security and confidentiality.
- Awareness of GDPR and good information management practices.
