Job Introduction

Are you passionate about bringing data to life in a way that truly influences decision-making? We’re looking for a Senior Data Visualisation Engineer to lead the development of impactful, scalable, and user-friendly data visualisation solutions. This is a high-impact role where you’ll combine your technical expertise with a deep understanding of user needs to deliver solutions that support strategic goals across the business.

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, shaping best practices, and staying ahead of trends in visualisation and modern data platforms. If you enjoy working with complex data in a fast-paced environment — and thrive when you’re blending creativity with technical rigour — we’d love to hear from you.

Job Overview

  • Lead the design and delivery of advanced dashboards and visualisations that support strategic business decisions
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into high-quality, user-centric solutions
  • Mentor and support junior team members, offering guidance in best practices, code review, and task planning
  • Optimise visualisations for performance, accessibility, and multi-device compatibility
  • Take ownership of the full design lifecycle, from wireframing to testing and release
  • Build and maintain automated data pipelines, working alongside data engineers to ensure a seamless data flow
  • Support agile delivery through sprint planning, estimation, and proactive communication of progress and risks
  • Promote data literacy and visualisation best practice across the organisation
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and quality standards
  • Stay informed on emerging tools and technologies, helping the team remain innovative and effective
  • Contribute to platform administration tasks such as asset structuring, user access management, and performance tuning

Minimum Criteria To Apply

  • Strong hands-on experience designing impactful dashboards and data stories using Tableau and similar visualisation tools
  • A proven ability to translate business challenges into visual and technical specifications
  • Solid experience with SQL and building data models in modern cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • A strong understanding of user-centric design principles and accessibility standards
  • Experience working in agile environments, planning and prioritising tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality frameworks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, version control (Git) and software development lifecycles
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading testing strategies to ensure data reliability, visualisation stability, and zero-downtime releases
  • A collaborative mindset and a strong sense of ownership in delivering value from data
