Salary & Hours

  • 37.50 hours per week 
  • This role is primarily field based, visiting our UK store locations, with a requirement to be at our Liverpool Head Office two days per week.

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an Retail Health and Safety Business Partner to join our Health and Safety Team.

This is a field-based role, working directly with our Regional, Area and Store Managers across the UK to ensure our stores are safe places to work and shop. You'll spend most of your time visiting store locations, with two days per week based at our Liverpool Head Office.

We’re looking for someone who’s confident working in a fast-paced retail environment, offers clear and practical advice, and builds strong relationships with store teams. This is about helping people understand and own safety, not just enforcing rules!

Job Overview

  • Be the key point of contact for H&S support and guidance across our store network
  • Lead by example and help educate our operation and store team to strive towards safe and compliant stores through simple guidance and clear communication
  • Support the review and rollout of key policy and procedures across all stores across the UK
  • Help store teams carry out thorough investigations when incidents do occur and ensure the business learn and improve from such events
  • Monitor compliance and performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Work closely with our primary authority as well as local authorities around the UK to maintain safe and compliant stores
  • Partner with other teams across the business, including product safety, central operations, building maintenance and training to ensure the business is aligned in its safety goals
  • Strive for continuous improvement of our food safety and pest management strategy across the business

Minimum Criteria To Apply

  • Ideally NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 equivalent achieved. Working towards this will also be considered for the right candidate.
  • Chartered IOSH Membership (CMIOSH), or actively working towards with a detailed and progressive CPD blueprint
  • 5+ years’ experience in a health and safety role, ideally within retail or a similar setting
  • Experience dealing with enforcement bodies such as Environmental Health and Trading Standards
  • Strong communication and influencing skills and able to explain things clearly and get others on board
