Job Introduction

We're looking for a highly creative, experienced and talented Senior Designer to join our in-house design studio for a 12-month Maternity cover. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our visual identity across the Seasonal events category, ensuring every design is on trend, commercially focused and fully compliant.

As a Senior Designer, you will have a strong commercial eye and natural flairs for surface pattern design and colour to lead and develop Seasonal gifting style guides and ranges of products that resonate with our customers. 

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with the design and buying teams to develop and oversee each Seasonal range from trend researching to creating original artwork and presenting your ideas while working to the critical path deadlines to ensure timely delivery of all creative assets.

Job Overview

  • Excellent surface pattern and graphic design skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates a commercial, adaptable and trend awareness with a variety of design styles. 
  • Extensive experience generating style guides for new Seasonal product ranges and designs, researching and identifying design, colour and market trends. 
  • Self-motivating with excellent attention to detail, confident communicator and forward thinker. 
  • Manage the end-to-end design process, ensuring timely delivery of all style guides and creative assets. 
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects effectively, delivering well executed designs whilst working to tight deadlines 
  • Plan and maintain the design schedule in collaboration with the Design Manager and buying teams. 
  • Oversee the creation, review, and sign-off of sample artwork and prototypes for products and packaging. 
  • Ensure all designs are visually appealing, on trend, and compliant with branding, licensing, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Develop artwork for production in line with style guides and category plans. 
  • Conduct market research, trend forecasting, including competitor reviews and trade show visits, to inform design direction.

Minimum Criteria To Apply

  • Previous experience in a Graphic or Packaging Designer role. 
  • Degree in design or equivalent experience. 
  • Experience of using Adobe Suite. 
  • Experience of working in a retail product design team 
  • Demonstrated creative skills. 
  • Customer-focused and commercially astute. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Effective communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and work with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
