As a Warehouse Operations Manager, you’ll oversee operations within some of Europe’s most advanced distribution environments. Reporting to a Depot General Manager, you’ll be accountable for the smooth, safe, and efficient running of warehouse operations — driving performance, service, and continuous improvement.
You’ll lead and develop a team of Warehouse Shift Managers, fostering a high-performing, people-focused culture where collaboration and accountability thrive. Working closely with our automation partners, you’ll maximise the capability of our cutting-edge systems while contributing to the ongoing success and growth of our logistics network.
Job Overview
- Health & Safety: Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring your team has the skills, knowledge, and commitment to meet Health & Safety targets, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Operational Excellence: Lead the execution of logistics operations across highly automated environments, ensuring precision, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
- Technology Integration: Leverage automation and advanced technology to streamline warehouse functions, setting new benchmarks for speed, accuracy, and reliability.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams — including Buying, Transport, People and Retail — to enhance overall performance and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and delivery of strategic initiatives that support the company’s growth and operational goals, making full use of automated systems and data insights.
- Leadership Development: Conduct regular DC floor walks, coaching and supporting your management team to achieve KPIs, drive productivity, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Communication: Review individual performance and development plans, share key business updates, and lead change initiatives to ensure engagement and alignment across the team.
Minimum Criteria To Apply
- Extensive experience in a fast-moving warehouse and distribution environment
- Leadership experience in managing managers within a similar environment
- Expertise in managing warehousing regulatory H&S checks and procedures
- Advanced experience in leading and managing change, including business improvement initiatives
- Proven track record of managing in a unionised environment
- Advanced experience in leading operational efficiency improvement processes
