Job Introduction

T J Morris Brewing Ltd is a growing brewery producing high quality cask and premium craft beers. Our brewery is based in the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool and includes an on-site Bar and Kitchen. We are part of the wider T J Morris Ltd (Home Bargains) Group.

We own the well-known Liverpool brand Higsons, which dates back to 1780, alongside the modern Love Lane craft beer range. With strong backing and a direct route to market through more than 500 Home Bargains stores, we are entering an exciting stage of growth and development.

We are looking for an experienced Head Brewer to lead our brewing operation and help drive the next chapter for both brands. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a well-equipped brewery and play a key role in shaping the beers, the team, and the direction of the brewery.

  • Manage the full brewing process from ingredient sourcing through to packaging
  • Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all beers
  • Plan and manage production schedules to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Lead and support the brewery team, creating a positive and productive working environment
  • Develop new recipes and seasonal releases for both the Love Lane and Higsons ranges
  • Use the 50HL production brew kit alongside the 5HL trial brew kit for new product development and collaboration brews
  • Support the growth of both brands across on trade and off trade markets
  • Manage HACCP systems, maintain SALSA accreditation, and oversee site health and safety
  • Ensure all brewing and packaging activities meet regulatory and hygiene standards
  • Monitor brewery performance and identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce beer and energy losses
  • Ensure brewing equipment and facilities are maintained to a high operational standard
